It's Been A Long Time!

Sorry it's been so long since I've written. Momma P. is very very busy this time of year and she hasn't been able to help me. Not having thumbs makes it hard to type. ;)

We had a party a little while ago and there were lots of people here. I was very polite and well-mannered and everyone loved on me and petted me. There were little kids here and they played ball with me and let me lick their faces. I didn't beg too much for food, it smelled so goo though that I couldn't help but look a little pitiful hoping for a little treat.

I have been playing fetch a lot. I love chasing the ball and bringing it back. I'm getting better at dropping it and rolling it to the person I want to throw it for me. It has been very pretty outside and I run and run around the yard and bounce around - Momma P. says I "Jake-rabbit" across the yard.

Sometimes I help Momma P. in her work room. She sews and I love to lay in the piles of fabric when she forgets and leaves them on the floor.

I've learned a new trick, too! I will take my pillow out of my crate and lay on it. Yesterday, Momma P. was going to take a nap and I carried my pillow all the way to the bedroom so I could lay in there with her! She laughed at me a little but it was a happy laugh. I'm not allowed on the bed, so I had to have somewhere to rest!

I'm still looking for my forever home. I love it here, but I know there are other dogs who need to be with Momma P. and Daddy S. and Sally and the girls. Another dog needs to be as lucky as I've been. Wow! We've been busy!

It's been a long time since I've been able to write. Momma P has been busy at work and she's been too tired to help me post much when she gets home. Let's see if I can remember what's been going on around here.

Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. Sally and I both got really nice bones from the feed store (they've lasted a long time - we have them hidden in the yard and bring them up on the porch to chew on). There was a big football game a couple days after and Momma P and Daddy S had a bunch of people over to watch tv and eat. I loved it! Meeting new people was so much fun! They all petted me and loved me. Sally and I were both wearing t-shirts but we had to take them off before we went outside. There was a little girl and little boy here and I got to kiss them and they played tug with me and threw my tennis ball. I didn't beg for food too much, but Miss Miki (Momma P's best friend) gave Sally and me pieces of bread dipped in juice from the barbeque. Yum!

Momma P and Daddy S and the girls put the Christmas tree up and decorated it. They made sure that anything I could hit with my tail wouldn't break. They've been putting boxes under the tree but I know I'm not supposed to mess with those. Sometimes my tennis ball will roll under there and someone has to get it for me.

Oh! Santa Bully sent me an awesome package! There was something called a backpack in it that Momma P says I'll wear when we go on a walk so maybe I won't pull so bad. There were new tennis balls and two new Kongs and some fuzzy toys and a new tug toy and some others that squeak really loud and look like an octopus and one that's a big rubber ball with a rope (I love it best). Momma P let me have some of them and said she would give me more when these wear out. I guess that's a good idea but I'd really like to have all the toys! I also got two brand new bowls that don't slide around when I eat!

Daddy S and the girls have been home all week. We've spent lots of time cuddled up on the couch and playing. Momma P is home now and says she'll be here every day until after Christmas! I hope we get to go for a walk. She said she wants to take me and Sally to the park and see the lights.

Another Busy Week!

Besides being absolutely adorable this week, I really did a lot.

Monday, Sally and I went out and played in the yard and we found something that smelled really really good to play in! We both rolled and rolled and ran and played and had a good time! When Momma P came home though she said we smelled bad. That's when I discovered what "bath" means! Daddy S had to pick me up and put me in the tub. I was a good boy and didn't try to escape though. When it was done, Momma P dried me off with a big, soft towel. Then I ran and ran around the couch and down the hall. It felt good to be clean. Afterwards, Momma P gave me a new collar because I have outgrown mine and it was a little raggedy. It's pretty and blue and I look really handsome in it.

The next day, Momma P came home and we went for a car ride. I went to the vet. That's a place where nice people pet you and ladies make you step up on this really strange thing called a scale. Then a man came in the room and petted me and talked to me. He called me a big, pretty boy and rubbed my ears. Then he gave me a shot. It pinched a little, but I licked him to let him know it was okay. I didn't like it when he put some stuff up my nose though, it made me sneeze!

After we got home, Momma P gave me a big bowl of food with some yogurt in it and I laid down on the couch with Sally. I licked her ears to let her know I missed her. She didn't do anything, but I think she missed me, too. Momma P gave us both new rawhides, too!

Cuddles for Everyone!

Momma P's been so busy she hasn't had time to help me post or take a whole lot of pictures of me. She says I'm very smart though and a fast learner. I know that I have to sit before I can go outside and that when she says it's bedtime I have to go to my crate (I don't like it, but I go anyway). I sit before she gives me my dinner, too.

My sister Sally and I are getting along great! I'm still a big puppy sometimes so she has to be patient, but she lets me cuddle with her and lick her face.

Speaking of cuddling, I'm learning that Momma P likes for me to lay next to her on the couch and be still. It's nice because she scratches my head and my belly. Daddy S likes for me to sit on the floor next to him so he can scratch my head. I get so much attention!

Momma P says she wants to start taking me on walks now that the weather is nice. She says I need to learn some manners when I'm on the leash though. I hope manners are easy.

Fun in the dirt!

Momma P was gone all weekend during the day so I got to spend some time with Daddy S. I ran around the yard while he worked outside. I like the dirt. It feels good between my toes and under my nails. I like to hunt around for bugs and then pounce and dig until I find one. Sometimes though I don't find anything so I stop and look somewhere else. The yard here has a lot of moles and one day I'm going to catch one just like Sally does! Momma P says I have to stop digging though. I'll work on it, but the dirt feels so good (and Sally eggs me on)!
